Representative Jasmine Crockett has indicated that Democrats might be on the lookout for the “safest white boy” as they prepare for the 2028 presidential race. While speaking in a podcast with SiriusXM host Clay Cane, she pointed to a specific candidate favored by party donors.
“Every time we vote for women, we’ve lost, so there’s this concern about party support for female candidates,” she commented. “It’s a valid fear because we all want to win.”
Crockett further elaborated, noting, “There are indeed certain candidates in discussion,” mentioning how donors expressed strong backing for this particular individual.
Among the potential Democratic contenders for 2028 are names like Governor Gavin Newsom of California, Governor JB Pritzker from Illinois, Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota, former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York, and former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Additionally, Crockett has been gauging support within her party for a possible bid for a prominent position on the House Oversight Committee, informing her colleagues that this decision is, for now, “made.”
