Rep. Jeffries calls on Biden to issue more pardons

“Throughout his life, President Joe Biden has fought to improve the plight of hardworking Americans who struggle to live paycheck to paycheck,” Jeffries said. “They have been actively prosecuted for their crimes, received harsh sentences, and in many cases have not had the benefit of adequate legal representation.” . ”

“Countless lives, families, and communities have been negatively impacted, especially in parts of Appalachia, America’s urban areas, and the Heartland,” he continued.

He argued that such action by the president would protect “liberty and justice for all.”

Blaze News reached out to Jeffries' office for comment, asking specifically whether he supports Biden pardoning Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro.

Both men had been targeted under the current administration's costly and unforgiving laws, but had not been charged with any violent crimes.

Navarro spent nearly four months in federal custody after being found guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress. On Wednesday, President-elect Donald Trump named Navarro as senior adviser for trade and manufacturing.
