Support Grows for Byron Donald’s Gubernatorial Campaign

Representative Jimmy Patronis (R-Fla.) has recently announced his endorsement of fellow Republican Rep. Byron Donald (R-Fla.) in the race for governor of Florida. This marks Patronis as the 17th member of the state’s congressional delegation to support Donald, who aims to take over from Governor Ron DeSantis, who is stepping down at the end of his term.

A press release highlighted Patronis’s backing not just for Donald but also for President Trump. Additionally, it mentioned the support he has gathered from many members of Florida’s congressional delegation, the state’s top sheriff, and a significant portion of Florida’s House Republican caucus.

“I completely agree with President Trump. Byron Donald is the man to lead the state of Florida as our next governor,” Patronis commented, describing Donald as “an America First fighter with the backbone and conviction to protect our freedoms, uphold law and order, and advocate for all hardworking Floridians.”

Patronis continued, emphasizing that Donald’s commitment to making Florida more affordable is key for enabling residents to pursue the American Dream. “I consider him a friend and am proud to join President Trump in supporting Byron in this gubernatorial race,” he added.

Notably, 15 sheriffs from Florida recently endorsed Donald as well, primarily due to his focus on law and order. Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco stated that Donald “is the leader Florida needs at this time as we work together and with President Trump to fulfill the mandate he has received from the American people and the people of our great state of Florida.” He expressed confidence in Donald’s collaboration with law enforcement, believing he has innovative solutions to enhance job creation and educational improvements.

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey echoed similar sentiments, declaring Donald a “loyal defender of law enforcement who always prioritizes the people, our officers, and the Constitution!”

Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla.), a former governor himself, also endorsed Donald earlier in the summer. He urged Floridians to elect Donald, noting he would “strengthen our economy, advocate for seniors and veterans, protect our communities, and, importantly, make Florida more affordable for every family.”

In discussions with Breitbart News over the summer, Donald shared his vision for advancing Florida. “We are blessed to live in the best state in America,” he remarked, aiming to build upon DeSantis’s achievements. “We have great leadership in our state.”

Donald praised Governor DeSantis for his effective leadership and expressed plans to leverage that success to enhance transportation systems and ensure affordability across various sectors. “I believe in ten years, Florida can become the financial capital of the world,” he stated.

Recent campaign data reveals that Donald has raised an impressive $31.5 million since launching his campaign in February, with $9.2 million amassed in the third quarter alone. Early polls suggest that Donald is currently leading against his potential primary opponent.
