Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene claims House Speaker Johnson is acting at the direction of the White House.

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Criticism of House Speaker Mike Johnson

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia recently claimed that House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Louisiana Republican, is “taking direct orders from the White House” rather than genuinely leading House Republicans.

Greene made these remarks during an interview. Her comments are notable considering her upcoming resignation from the House in January. Additionally, she has been in a public disagreement with former President Trump regarding his refusal to support the Georgia Republican Party’s request for documents related to Jeffrey Epstein’s case. This feud led Trump to label her a “traitor.”

“I want you to know that Mr. Johnson is not our chairman. He is not our leader,” Greene stated.

Furthermore, Greene elaborated on her concerns, expressing that Johnson takes “100 percent direct orders from the White House” and that many Republicans are “furious” about it but are too cowardly to express their frustration.

Her criticisms align with a growing sentiment among House Republicans who are dissatisfied with the leadership direction. In recent weeks, several Republicans have voiced their grievances against Johnson.

House Speaker Johnson’s office has not provided a response to these accusations.

Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Davis Engle stated, “President Trump remains the undisputed leader of the MAGA movement… Congresswoman Greene is resigning from her constituents midway through her term and abandoning the fight.” Engle added that there is no time for her “petty grudges.”

As the year wraps up, tensions appear to be mounting among House Republicans, with internal conflicts becoming more pronounced. Some party members believe Johnson has mishandled certain issues, with Rep. Kevin Kiley from California highlighting concerns about leadership in light of recent events.

Rep. Nicole Malliotakis from New York shared her belief that Johnson is obstructing efforts to establish a National Women’s Museum, an initiative she claims has bipartisan support.

In a separate incident, Rep. Greg Steube from Florida expressed frustration over Johnson’s management of the National Defense Authorization Act, suggesting he’s being cornered into making tough decisions.

On a broader level, Rep. Nancy Mace from South Carolina compared Johnson’s effectiveness to former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, arguing that although Johnson is an improvement over his predecessor, many within the party still feel marginalized.
