Republican Rep. Mike Collins of Georgia said in a post on X on Sunday that one of his staff members and another were the targets of a robbery in Washington, DC.
“Early this morning three men attempted to rob one of my staff members and his friend at gunpoint at the Navy Yard. One stole their watch and the other punched them in the face. Our nation’s capital has become a war zone because of the pro-criminal policies pursued by our DC government. Thank God the assailants were fought off and both young men are safe,” Collins said. Tweeted.
“It’s inconceivable that drive-by robberies are a common occurrence just a few blocks from the Capitol.”
“It’s unfortunate that our nation’s capital has become a showcase for failed Democratic policies and violent crime, in stark contrast to the greatness of our country. Crime is now so commonplace that many don’t even report it because they know city officials will either do nothing or let the criminals go free and allow them to continue committing crimes,” said the official involved in the case.
