Rep. Ronny Jackson says nephew grazed with bullet at Trump rally

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) said Saturday that his nephew was grazed by a bullet while attending a rally for former President Trump.

“My nephew was at the event tonight,” Jackson told Fox News’ Sean Hannity, explaining that his nephew was among “a circle of friends and family.”

“We heard a gunshot and everybody fell to the ground,” Jackson explained. “I don’t know if you guys have a picture, but he was grazed in the neck. The bullet went across his neck, cut him, and he was bleeding.”

Jackson, a Texas Republican and former White House physician, said the enclosure was to the former president’s right, “in the line of fire.” Jackson explained that his sister-in-law encouraged his nephew to go to the triage tent after the incident.

Trump was quickly evacuated from a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, early Saturday morning after a shooting that left one attendee dead and two seriously injured, according to the Secret Service.

The agency said the shooter had been “neutralized.” The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee said the former president was “in good spirits” and looking forward to traveling to Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention next week.
