Rep. Thomas Massie emphasizes impressive fundraising success despite looming Trump challenge

Representative Thomas Massey has reported raising over $700,000 in his third-quarter fundraiser, marking a personal best during a term where President Donald Trump is pushing for his re-election.

Other Republicans, especially those who have been in the House for under 13 years, might face Trump-supported challengers in 2026.

“Our momentum is really picking up. Just last week, we held nine events with the senators, particularly Rand Paul in Kentucky, where we had packed venues,” Massie shared with Fox News Digital on Wednesday. “This quarter’s fundraising is my best since I came to Congress 13 years ago.”

“While we haven’t finalized the paperwork, it seems we’ve surpassed the $700,000 raised for this third quarter that just ended. For perspective, my top quarter before this was $648,000 in the second quarter of 2020 when I was the only member who stood against the $2.2 trillion aid package.”

“The people in Kentucky’s fourth district prefer representatives who adhere to their principles rather than simply following the party line or the president,” he added.

In contrast, Trump has openly criticized Massie, labeling him “the worst Republican Congressman” while seeking alternatives to support in the primaries.

“MAGA should abandon this pathetic loser, Tom Massey. The good news? There’s a true American patriot ready to run against him in the Republican primary. My campaign in Kentucky is going to be intense,” Trump stated in a post on Truth Social.

Back in March, Trump had also asserted that Massie should be challenged in a primary, expressing his intent to lead that charge.

In a recent update, Massie mentioned on his Campaign X account that during the last two days of the third quarter—September 29th and 30th—he received contributions from 592 donors amounting to $84,839 online, in addition to checks totaling at least $35,000 expected to arrive by mail.
