Harris will head to Texas on Friday to hold a rally highlighting the state's abortion laws following the Supreme Court's 2022 reversal of Roe v. Wade.
Associated Press reported Thursday morning that Harris will be joined by Beyoncé, citing three people familiar with the gathering.
Beyoncé's song “Freedom” has become standard music at Harris' rallies, and is played as a walk-up song before she addresses supporters.
News of Beyoncé's next appearance comes after speculation increased during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in August. Rumors circulated about Beyoncé and how she was supposed to perform in front of the Democratic crowd on the final night of the convention. However, the star ultimately was unable to perform or attend the DNC.
Although Beyoncé has not yet endorsed Harris this term, she has a long history of supporting the Democratic Party, including singing the national anthem at former President Barack Obama's second presidential inauguration in 2013.
Additionally, Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, announced her full support for Harris after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race in July amid concerns over Biden's mental acuity and age. .
“New, Youthful, Sharp, Energy!!!!” You asked for it, so our President Biden did what was best for the country. Put aside your personal ego, power, and prestige. That's the definition of a great leader. I thank President Biden for his efforts and leadership. Please make Vice President Kamala Harris President,” Tina Knowles posted on Instagram in July with a photo of her with Harris.
Additionally, Democratic Senate candidate Colin Allred will join Harris in Houston as part of a vote-getting effort aimed at defeating incumbent Republican Sen. Ted Cruz.
