“Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan’s next series, “Special Ops: Lioness,” may be hitting our screens as early as July 2023, according to a report published Thursday.
“For those looking forward to a new Taylor Sheridan show, I’m told that Lioness, the one with Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman, this person said it’s debuting in July,” host of “The Hot Mic” podcast, Jeff Sneider, told co-host John Rocha in a recent episode.
A slew of A-list actors have lined up to star in the Sheridan-Paramount production, including Morgan Freeman and even some famous faces from the “Yellowstone” universe. The story follows the real-life CIA program, “Lioness Engagement Team,” as operatives try to take down a terrorist organization from within.
The real program was developed with the Marine Corps, where women were hired and trained to conduct “culturally-sensitive” searches on Iraqi women. Little else is known about the inner workings of the series. From photographs shared online, it looks absolutely brilliant, and exactly what we need right now. Sheridan was supposed to be releasing the second half of “Yellowstone” season five this summer. But production and release dates have been pushed back due to ongoing drama between him and the show’s lead, Kevin Costner.
Sheridan has a slew of shows currently in development with Paramount Network and 101 Studios. Knowing we might not have to wait much longer for another one is the best news ever.
