REPORT: GOP Candidate Blames Hacker After Twitter Account Caught Liking ‘Sexually Explicit’ Content

GOP Franklin County auditor candidate Jarrod Golden apparently deleted his public Twitter after the account was reportedly caught liking “sexually explicit” content, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

Someone behind Golden’s account seems to have “liked” a series of “sexually explicit and pornographic” images, according to The Columbus Dispatch. Thirty-nine-year-old Golden denied liking the posts and claimed this was the work of a hacker. The outlet further reported that the Twitter account was quickly deleted after which Golden apparently took to Facebook to issue a statement to the public. He reportedly apologized to anyone that may have been offended by the “ridiculous and profane material that was shared or liked,” according to the outlet. Shortly after posting the update Tuesday, the Facebook page was also scrubbed.

Twitter was flooded with comments, and several had even screen capped the reportedly “liked” images, blasting them online for all to see. One of the tweets revealed three different images of women with plunging cleavage, nighties and lingerie, and one included a woman in her underwear in the bathroom, according to the screenshots. Another user posted some of the same images the other user had reportedly found, along with one photo of a woman that was captioned “am I still hot mom at 27?”. The user captioned the cluster of images by writing, “When Republicans show you who they are, believe them.”

Golden is challenging Democratic incumbent Michael Stinziano on the ballot, according to the Dispatch. As of this writing, the social media accounts are still deactivated.
