TMZ Police have launched an investigation into Perry’s death that has led to the arrests of at least one doctor and several drug dealers, the department reported Thursday.
Additionally, multiple law enforcement agencies executed search warrants and seized computers, phones and other electronic devices in an effort to determine who supplied the actor with the ketamine that caused him to lose consciousness and drown in his home’s hot tub in October 2023.
The arrested doctor and drug dealer allegedly helped arrange and deliver ketamine to the “Friends” actor.
Additionally, the search warrant reportedly uncovered text messages discussing Perry and providing him with ketamine, including how much Perry was willing to pay for the drugs.
According to TMZThe actor had been receiving ketamine infusion therapy to treat anxiety and depression, but his last treatment was a week and a half before his death, meaning that the ketamine in his system was not prescribed by a doctor.
TMZ Authorities also revealed that they had obtained a search warrant from Brooke Mueller, the ex-wife of Charlie Sheen, who had been undergoing treatment with Perry.
However, it has been pointed out that Mueller had “nothing to do” with the arrest. TMZ.
The investigation, confirmed in May, involves the DEA, the U.S. Postal Service and the Los Angeles Police Department.
The arrest comes after Perry was found dead in a hot tub at his home in the upscale Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles in October 2018. Initial reports suggested he died of drowning, but toxicology tests confirmed the cause of death was acute exposure to ketamine.
