On Wednesday, atlanta journal constitution We first reported that Willis had filed a brief with the appeals court asking to overturn Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee's decision to dismiss charges against Trump and his co-defendants.

McAfee dismissed six of the charges against Trump in March, saying Willis didn't provide enough detail.

Mr. McAfee last month also dismissed two other charges related to allegations of filing false documents in federal court, arguing that Georgia prosecutors and Mr. Willis lacked authority to bring charges.

However, the judge upheld the racketeering charges in the case against all 19 defendants.

Willis said in a court brief that the trial court “erred in striking out six of the indictments in this case.”

“This indictment provided the cross-appellants with sufficient knowledge of the conduct at issue and enabled them to prepare an intelligent defense to the charges,” Willis argued, adding that the indictment “provides a wealth of context and It contains factual allegations.”

“The court should reverse the trial court's order and reinstate counts 2, 5, 6, 28, 36, and 38 of the indictment,” she continued.

Trump and other defendants tried to have Willis removed from the case because of Willis' secret romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, a special prosecutor in the prosecutor's office hired to help oversee the trial. It is said that

According to georgia recorderThe Georgia Court of Appeals is expected to rule on the president's request to remove Willis in the coming months.

The charges against Willis were first revealed in a complaint filed in early January by Ashley Merchant, a former White House aide to Michael Roman and a former Trump campaign member. The motion alleged that Wade and Willis had an inappropriate romantic relationship.

A long-term affair turned into a relationship, as Wade was said to be still married to his ex-wife when they began their relationship, but Willis paid Wade handsomely for his work. However, she benefited from the vacation paid for by Wade, which she would later claim as her own. Please pay him back.

In August, Trump and 18 others were indicted on charges of participating in a massive conspiracy to illegally reverse Georgia's narrow loss to Democratic candidate Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election. The defendants were all charged with violating Georgia's racketeering law, known as the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).

Mr. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
