Rep. Yassamin Ansari’s Relationship with Jack Cocchiarella

According to a report from Sources Say News, Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) is allegedly in a romantic relationship with left-wing commentator Jack Cocchiarella. The report, published Thursday, looks into Cocchiarella’s ties to an influencer program that Ansari’s committee is currently investigating, along with some sexual misconduct allegations he has denied.

Juliegrace Brufke, the reporter for Sources Say, indicated that Ansari, who is 34, is involved with Cocchiarella, aged 24. Cocchiarella is known to be a part of the creator council of Chorus, an organization that supports left-leaning social media creators and has been under scrutiny from the House Oversight Committee.

According to sources, it seems that this relationship isn’t just a fleeting thing. Brufke noted that Ansari was present at Cocchiarella’s birthday party last Friday, where witnesses claimed there was a playful atmosphere and that she had even helped in the preparations.

The report mentions text message screenshots from guests at an MS NOW party during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner weekend, which depicted the couple as quite affectionate. Several attendees confirmed they saw them together, and one source mentioned Cocchiarella acknowledging his connection to “a Democratic congresswoman.”

Both were seen at a MoveOn event in Phoenix back in August, and Cocchiarella hosted Ansari on his YouTube show in July.

The Chorus investigation was initiated by Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) in November 2025, aimed at determining if the program was used to bypass campaign-finance disclosure requirements. The committee issued subpoenas to the Sixteen Thirty Fund, the nonprofit that originally operated the program, for records in May.

Cocchiarella is listed as part of the Chorus creator council. There have been claims stating he referred to himself as a co-founder, yet the organization’s site lists him only as a council member. Brian Tyler Cohen, a YouTuber associated with Chorus, has publicly identified himself as a co-founder.

Since joining the Oversight Committee in January 2025, there have been no public records showing that Ansari has questioned any witnesses about the Chorus program or participated in the inquiry in any way. Comer has approached the investigation primarily through letters and subpoenas rather than formal hearings.

Sources indicated that House rules do not prohibit such a relationship, especially since Cocchiarella is not a congressional employee.

There have also been discussions regarding Ansari’s shifting stance on Israel, alongside allegations that Cocchiarella’s social media posts were perceived as antisemitic.

Earlier reports about Cocchiarella included sexual misconduct allegations during his time at Dartmouth College. In 2022, NH Journal mentioned that Dartmouth had disciplined him following at least one claim of abusive behavior, warning of potential suspension under their gender-based misconduct policy. He was also expelled from the Dartmouth College Democrats group.

According to Sources Say, multiple sexual assault accusations against Cocchiarella at Dartmouth had been reported by the Columbia Spectator. He later filed a lawsuit against a former classmate for online rape allegations, which was settled.

Cocchiarella denies any wrongdoing. His attorney told NH Journal that he has never been accused of sexual assault nor subjected to criminal or Title IX investigations. Furthermore, Cocchiarella stated that Dartmouth’s Title IX office never conducted an inquiry against him and that he left the institution in good academic standing.

After transferring to Columbia, he graduated in 2025 and now hosts The Jack Cocchiarella Show on YouTube, boasting more than 1.5 million subscribers.

TMZ has reported that Ansari and Cocchiarella have been dating for several months, describing their relationship as strong. Sources indicate they first met during an interview Cocchiarella conducted with Ansari in the spring of 2025, evolving from friendship into romance over time.

When queried about the romance, Ansari stated she wouldn’t comment on her personal life, emphasizing her focus on significant issues like immigration and the ongoing conflict in Iran: “I’m trying to help flip the House for meaningful legislation — that’s what we should all be focused on.” Cocchiarella also expressed he prefers to keep his personal matters private.

Previously, there were reports on Cocchiarella’s outspoken comments regarding political topics, including criticism of figures like Trump and various contemporary political events.

Ansari has been vocal about her views on immigration, stating that detainees are her “constituents,” even if it sparked controversy. She later clarified her stance on the term “constituent,” emphasizing that legal status shouldn’t define representation.

In a series of political statements, Ansari has called for investigations into financial dealings related to Trump’s family and expressed intentions to impeach individuals for various political actions.

In past remarks, she characterized Trump as “mentally unstable,” discussing impeachment or invoking the 25th Amendment, and has made strong claims against other politicians.

Through her proposals, such as her “HER Agenda,” Ansari has advocated for policies addressing reproductive health, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging women’s health issues in the workforce.
