Reporter Sam Rubin Cause of Death Revealed

Sam Rubin, a beloved entertainment anchor and reporter at Los Angeles’ KTLA who was on a first-name basis with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, passed away in May at the age of 64. The cause of Rubin’s death has been revealed.

The Los Angeles County coroner confirmed on Tuesday that Rubin died of a heart attack caused by coronary artery disease, two months after his death. report From WGN TV.

The coroner’s office added in its report that Rubin had “ischemic heart disease secondary to atherosclerotic coronary artery disease” and that a lack of blood and oxygen caused his heart to stop.

Rubin’s cause of death has been listed as “natural causes.”

“Ischemic heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide,” National Institutes of Health The NIH added that the condition, also known as coronary artery disease or atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, “manifests clinically as myocardial infarction or ischemic cardiomyopathy.”

This type of heart disease affects about 126 million people worldwide and is more common in men than women, with the “global prevalence” of ischemic heart disease “rising,” the NIH noted.

On the morning of May 10, Rubin went to the hospital with stomach pains and was pronounced dead in the emergency room just after 11 a.m.

Rubin joined KTLA in 1991 and quickly gained attention for conducting illuminating live interviews with actors and musicians from behind the anchor desk, becoming one of the top local news personalities in the United States.

The entertainment journalist has also been a main attraction at red carpet premiere events and movie screenings. His last interview was with actress Jane Seymour on May 9.
