Reporters this week asked former President Donald Trump questions about jurors and witnesses in his Manhattan business records trial, saying if he answered, he would be in violation of Judge Juan Machan’s restrictive gag order and could be sent to prison. .
Mr. Marchand’s gag order prohibits President Trump from commenting on prosecutors other than Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, their staff and their families, Mr. Marchand’s family, witnesses in the trial or jurors.
Marchan was found in contempt of court last week for allegedly violating Trump’s gag order 10 times, and on Monday threatened him with prison time if he continues to violate the order.
Nevertheless, on Monday, one reporter shouted at President Trump during a question about witnesses: “Is Michael Cohen a liar?”
He was asked again: Mr. Trump, what do you think about the jury? ” Similarly, “Mr. Trump has any thoughts about the witnesses?”
He was later asked, “Is Stormy Daniels a liar?”
President Trump ignored the question and instead criticized the gag order as “disgraceful” and suggested he risked going to prison to uphold his constitutional right to speech.
“I have to be careful with every word I say to you guys. Yes, I have a question. It’s a simple question. I want to answer it, but this judge has given me a gag order and said, “If you violate… I can’t talk about it because I said, ‘I’m going to jail.’ And he said frankly, our Constitution is far more important than prisons. It’s not even close. I’m always willing to make that sacrifice,” he said.

Trump also criticized Marchand for what he can do under the gag order, and two other New York judges for the lawsuit filed against him.
“But what’s going on here is shameful and the appellate court should get involved. New York looks very bad, the New York system is very righteous, this judge, “It looks very bad between Engoron and Kaplan. You’re triple-teaming with a corrupt judge,” he said.
“I should be campaigning because this is a disgrace to our country. But they said two things. [weeks] The way I see it, it seems like we’re actually talking about three more weeks. By the way, they didn’t have enough time to fill the time,” he said.
But he told reporters he wanted their stories to be reported accurately.
“What I say to you – I hope you report your story accurately. This is a real threat to our country and a serious threat to our Constitution.”
On Tuesday morning, a reporter asked him, “Did you sleep with Stormi?”
President Trump ignored the question, calling the gag order “unconstitutional” and criticizing the trial.
“This is all Biden’s because it’s coming from the White House and it’s an attack on a political opponent that has never happened in this country. It’s happening in third world countries, but it’s not happening in this country. It’s a shame. This trial is a very, very unfair trial. The good news is they don’t have anything.

Daniels (real name Stephen Clifford), on the other hand, gave extremely ridiculous testimony, which reportedly led to criticism from Marchand and prompted Trump’s defense team to seek a mistrial.
