Republican Tim Rogers wins Wisconsin 4th district primary

Republican Purnima Nath lost her primary election to Tim Rogers on Tuesday, setting up a November runoff to unseat Democratic Rep. Gwen Moore in Wisconsin’s 4th Congressional District.

Rogers will have an uphill battle to defeat Moore, who has been governor since 2009. Wisconsin Public Radio reports that Moore has won every race he has run for reelection in a landslide victory.

Nath emigrated from India and describes his work as management consulting.

Rogers, a Milwaukee native, is facing off against Moore in four consecutive elections and has never topped 23 percent of the vote.

Moore was one of just three Democrats to vote against a bill to expand the child tax credit in committee in February.
