Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D-Ill.) claimed on ABC's “This Week” Sunday that Republicans are trying to take away Americans' freedoms.
“Independents, like Democrats, understand that it is the Republican Party that is trying to take away people's freedoms,” Pritzker said. It's the Republicans who are trying to take away Social Security and Medicare. It's the Republican Party that is basically at war with America's working families. ”
He continued, “We haven't even entered this fight yet. There are a lot of Republicans, MAGA Republicans, who support things that are not good for the American people, and they're on stage right now. And they're the candidates. We can't really join this fight until we choose.”
Pritzker added: This, too, is a choice between her two visions of America. And Joe Biden has proven that he is someone who will stand up for working families. He is a champion of the rights that people consider fundamental to life: the right to vote, reproductive rights, human rights. So I truly believe that the day is yet to come when there will be a true contrast between Republicans on the one hand and Democrats on the other. ”
