Republicans are urging Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Christa Noem to announce the full accounting of immigrants released to the United States through former President Joe Biden's parole pipeline.
Under the Biden administration, various parole programs have been blown away for immigrants arriving at the US border from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua and Haiti, among other foreign countries.
in letter To NOEM, Mark Greene (R-TN), Josh Bretzin (R-OK) and Michael Guest (R-MS) wrote that former DHS executive director Alejandro Mallorkas repeatedly “refused to respond to the basic requests of the committee.
As far as lawmakers know, Biden's parole pipeline “allowed at least 1.5 million unacceptable foreigners to enter the United States through the immigrant parole program,” and the exact accounting remains unknown.
“The Biden-Harris administration's lack of transparency has created challenges for the full scope of Biden-Harris administration's use of parole, the financial outcomes of individual parole programs, and the committee's ability to determine whether modern parole status requires additional statutory relief,” they write.
Noem, author of lawmakers, should publish all documents relating to the number of immigrants announced by the Biden administration through parole from January 21, 2021 to January 20, 2025.
Lawmakers also want to know about the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) involved in promoting Biden's parole pipeline.
As reported by Breitbart News, Trump has revoked the legal status of 532,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans who were welcomed to the United States through Biden's parole program, known as the CHNV program.
Similarly, Trump has ended Biden's CBP one immigrant mobile app. This allowed Mexican immigrants to schedule appointments at the tropical border for release to the US.
