Senator Buddy Carter from Georgia is set to introduce a resolution on Monday seeking her removal from both the House Budget Committee and the House Committee on Education and Workforce, where she serves as the leading Democrat.

Republicans have strongly countered any insinuation that Kirk’s death stemmed from conservative rhetoric. Omar, in a recent interview with a progressive outlet, criticized Kirk’s past statements and the Republican response to the tragedy, accusing them of taking things out of context. She referred to Kirk’s death as “remorning,” expressing the complexities of the situation.

Omar’s comments came shortly after the assassination when she asserted that Kirk had not fully understood the struggles of marginalized communities. “There are many voices discussing him, but they simply want civil discourse,” she remarked, adding that the discourse surrounding Kirk’s words had been skewed over the years.
