Republicans Issue Plan to Make Deporting Illegal Aliens Easier for Trump

Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) and Rep. Byron Donald (R-Fla.) urged President Joe Biden to close all available detention facilities for migrants arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border. They are introducing a bill that would force them to use the space. It will be easier to deport illegal immigrants.

“Alternatives to Detention (ATD) Reorganization” prevent The Biden administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has transformed an enforcement program meant to monitor immigrants undergoing immigration court proceedings in the United States into a taxpayer-funded social services program.

The bill would require DHS to use all available detention space to detain immigrants arriving at the southern border.

Once all available detention space is utilized, the law would require DHS to place immigrants in the ATD program with GPS monitoring, rather than the current policy where most immigrants are allowed to reside in the United States without supervision. is required to be placed.

These immigrants will be monitored with GPS by DHS throughout their immigration court proceedings.

“The Biden administration has allowed a huge wave of illegal aliens to cross our southern border, creating an unprecedented national security and humanitarian crisis,” Hagerty said. Said In a statement:

But instead of using all the tools available to address the problem, Mr. Biden’s Department of Homeland Security is refusing to enforce laws already in place, abolishing detention, and making clear efforts to allow illegal immigrants to roam freely across the United States. By exploiting ATD. I am pleased to introduce legislation that will require the government to combat record levels of illegal immigration and ensure the security of our southern border. [Emphasis added]

Currently, fewer than 195,000 immigrants are enrolled in the ATD program, a fraction of the more than 6.2 million immigrants on Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) “non-detention records.” They are allowed to live freely in the United States. Immigration court proceedings underway.

Experts say that by October, immigrants living in the U.S. on ICE’s non-custodial record were 8 million, an unprecedented level. For comparison, in 2019 there were only 3 million immigrants on ICE’s non-custodial records.

GPS monitoring requirements for millions of immigrants in ICE’s non-custodial records will allow future administrations to focus on deportation and more easily track undocumented immigrants found to have invalid asylum claims. They will be able to be detained and deported. Therefore, there is no reason to remain in the United States.

While the bill would require DHS to notify local law enforcement of immigrants who flee ATD, immigrants seeking resettlement in sanctuary jurisdictions would not be eligible to register with ATD. Immigrants monitored by GPS must check in with DHS or face expedited deportation.

“Joe Biden intentionally and systematically destroyed our nation’s immigration system through his presidential actions,” Donald said in a statement.

As a result, more than 10 million illegal immigrants are currently entering our country without being tested. These people should be held in detention facilities upon entering the United StatesBut because Joe Biden has dismantled ICE’s ATD program, they are frequently released into our interior and then lost. That’s why it’s critical that we leverage biometric and GPS technology to help law enforcement pinpoint the exact location of illegal aliens before they are deported. I’m proud to join Senator Hagerty in introducing this commonsense proposal on behalf of the American people. [Emphasis added]

Additionally, the bill would end the Biden administration’s Case Management Pilot Program (CMPP) and Young Adult Case Management Program (YACMP), which provide taxpayer-funded social services to immigrants in immigration court proceedings.

Instead, funds earmarked for CMPP and YACMP would be transferred to increase detention space for migrants arriving at the border. Immigrants enrolled in both programs will be automatically placed in DHS custody.

The National Immigration Center (NICE), headed by RJ Howman, is lobbying MPs to support reform of the ATD Act. Mr. Howman wrote to members of Congress:

The ATD Reform Act would stop the Biden administration from overusing (and watering down) ATD, and in part would require DHS to utilize all available detention beds before resorting to ATD, and would require non-custodial It would secure all illegal aliens on record (nearly 8 million people). He is registered with his ATD (currently about 190,000 people) with GPS monitoring during the immigration process, including the appeal.

A Breitbart News op-ed last year by former Acting ICE Director Tom Homan emphasized the need for such a policy:

So what can we do in the face of this reality brought about by Biden? First, quickly utilize Chapter 8 to expel immigrants determined to be unable to legally be in the country. Should. Number 2, ICE should detain and deport all aliens who receive final removal orders and flagged for expedited removal. Third, for people who are not in ICE custody, including the millions of people on non-custodial records. You should at least track them with GPS so they don’t run away. The ICE program that provides this is called the Intensive Surveillance Appearance Program (ISAP) and employs GPS capabilities through monitoring devices such as ankle bracelets and wrist trackers and GPS-enabled apps. [Emphasis added]

ICE should impose appropriate penalties on those who fail to appear in court and refuse to abide by the conditions of their release. ISAP has a 98% success rate when immigrants continue to use technology throughout the legal process. Let’s use it if we can.

The bill is co-sponsored by Rep. Barry Moore (R-Ala.), Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), and Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-Calif.). ), Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado), Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.), Rep. Mary Miller (R-Ill.), Rep. Clay Higgins (R-Louisiana), and Rep. Nancy Mace. (R-South Carolina), Rep. William Timmons (R-South Carolina), Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas), Rep. August Pflueger (R-Texas), and Rep. Troy Neals (R-Texas). ), Sen. Rick Scott (R-Florida), Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kansas), Sen. Steve Daines (R-Montana), and Marcia Black. They are Representative Byrne (Republican of Tennessee) and Senator Ted Cruz (Republican of Texas).

During his presidential campaign, former President Donald Trump vowed to carry out “the largest internal deportation operation in American history.” The policy is supported by 51% of Americans, including 68% of Republicans, 46% of swing voters, and 42% of swing voters. of the Democratic Party.

On Biden’s watch, DHS is only expelling one illegal alien from the interior of the United States for every 70 or so migrants arriving at the border. On the other hand, according to DHS data, suggest Migrants who arrive at the border have a 70 to 90 percent chance of being released into the interior of the United States.
