Republicans Side with Dems to Fund Biden’s Parole Pipeline for Migrants

The House Republican caucus joined Democrats in maintaining funding for President Joe Biden’s parole plan to fly hundreds of thousands of migrants into the United States.

On Wednesday, 13 Republicans Voted He worked with 205 Democrats to block an amendment from Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-Wis.) to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) budget bill that would have cut funding for Biden’s parole program.

Known as the CHNV program, the pipeline would allow migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela to book their own flights in their home countries and fly to a U.S. airport to secure what’s known as “humanitarian parole” after being vetted by the federal government.

The 13 Republicans are:

  • Representative Brian Fitzpatrick (Republican, Pennsylvania)

  • Congressman Carlos Gimenez (R-FL)
  • Rep. Jennifer Gonzalez Colon (Republican, Territory)
  • Congressman Thomas Kean (Republican, New Jersey)
  • Congressman Young Kim (R-CA)
  • Rep. Nick LaLota (R-NY)
  • Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY)
  • Congressman Maria Salazar (R-FL)
  • Rep. Brandon Williams (R-NY)
