MSNBC commentator Donnie Deutsch said Monday on “Morning Joe” that Republicans who support former President Donald Trump would be “voting for the end of democracy.”
“This year, you’re not only voting for a Republican, you’re voting for a candidate who doesn’t believe in the most basic principles of democracy. I don’t want to waste my breath,” host Joe Scarborough said. We all know about the murder of, etc. But what’s the difference between a Republican, a Republican in a Peter Miller vest, you know, a Republican and a Democrat? In fact, it’s a vote by people who don’t agree with the most basic principles of American democracy against a candidate who does. It’s that simple, Donnie.
Deutsch said: We’ve said it many times on the show, when an authoritarian says what he’s going to do, make sure you pay attention to him. Well, his followers will tell you what to do, pay attention to it. Anyone, Joe, we can take you off the list. Whether it’s no longer free elections, a weaponized Justice Department, or an independent Federal Communications Commission, whatever. People say it won’t happen because we have checks and balances and institutions. As you can probably tell by now, there are no checks and balances. ”
He added, “We have information to our fearless leaders and we have information from our supporters. So there’s no mystery here. So there’s no mystery here at all. So vote Republican. For those of you who don’t understand that you’re voting for the end of democracy, tune in to last weekend’s Sunday show.
