'Request Mental Health Support' — Recent Heated Argument Between Congressmen Recorded

Wisconsin Legislators Engage in Public Spat

On Wednesday, a confrontation unfolded between two Wisconsin legislators, captured on social media platform X. It featured Democrat Mark Pocan speaking with a reporter from Spectrum News when Republican Derrick Van Olden rode up on his bike.

During the encounter, Pocan humorously referred to Van Olden as “an asshole,” then turned to the cameras, saying he might just put it on the news. Facing Van Olden directly, he remarked, “Hey, Derrick. As classy as ever, man. We love it. Thank you.”

Van Olden then began to respond with a jab, asking if Pocan had “lost his heart,” but was quickly interrupted. He mentioned seeing a tweet from Pocan late at night, where Pocan criticized a recent bill, claiming it would harm Americans’ Medicaid access. Van Olden countered this claim shortly after, asserting that Wisconsin benefits greatly from Medicaid funding.

In a clip of their exchange, Van Olden suggested that Pocan might need mental health counseling, stating, “Listen, you have a problem and I don’t know what it is.” This remark seemed to reflect the tension between them.

While there have been frequent online disagreements, this incident marked a more direct confrontation. Pocan implied that Van Olden avoids discussing important issues, while Van Olden rebutted by saying Pocan has always been involved in politics and questioned his background as a business owner.

When accusations arose regarding financial matters, Pocan urged Van Olden to “look into it,” then slyly questioned whether he had been drinking that day. Their argument didn’t end there, as it continued online, with Pocan expressing his disappointment in Wisconsin’s political situation and Van Olden launching further accusations against Democratic leaders.
