Filmmaker Michael Moore is criticizing prominent Democrats, including Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, Governor Kathy Hochul, and Senators Hillary and Bill Clinton, for not offering full support to socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani in New York City.
In a recent post, Moore openly endorsed Mamdani, identifying him as a socialist rather than a conventional Democrat. He humorously expressed his enthusiasm for labeling Mamdani a socialist, even playfully mimicking reactions like “boo!!!” and “Tax!!!” or “Water!!!” “Socialism!”
Moore expressed admiration for Mamdani’s heritage, accusing Israel of committing “war crimes” and supporting what he describes as “genocide.”
However, his main frustration lies with Democratic leaders for failing to vocally back Mamdani, whom he sees as anti-Israel and anti-American.
Moore criticized the Democratic PACs for opposing Mamdani, labeling them as the “old Democratic Guard (‘We Lose the Election!’)” party.
“The traditional Democratic leadership has turned down support for Mamdani,” he stated.
He urged party leaders to reconsider their approach, expressing disdain at seeing them undermine Mamdani’s campaign. “I really dislike these Democratic ‘leaders’ trying to stifle his candidacy,” Moore added.
He also took issue with the New York Times for suggesting that voters should avoid Mamdani in the primaries and acknowledged his disappointment with broader media coverage.
“Local media has instilled fear in the Jewish community, which makes them feel unsafe with Mamdani,” Moore asserted.
He noted that despite the pushback, young voters are largely rallying behind Mamdani, actively reaching out to a vast number of potential supporters.
Moore concluded by stating, “I’m here to help him in any way I can,” showcasing his commitment to Mamdani’s campaign.
