Cyber Guy: Rescue Drone
The TY-3R Flying Lifebuoy drone is a brilliant innovation from Chinese drone company Didiok Makings, combining the high-speed flight of a quadcopter with the buoyancy of a lifebuoy.
Imagine you’re at the beach and you spot a swimmer in distress about half a mile away. You can’t throw a lifebuoy that far, but can you toss one from the air? That’s where a great innovation from Chinese drone company Didiok Makings comes in: the TY-3R Flying Lifebuoy drone. The device combines the swift flight of a quadcopter with the buoyancy of a lifebuoy into a life-saving device.

How the Flying Lifebuo drone works
In an emergency, rescue teams can launch the TY-3R drone, which can fly over water at an incredible speed of 29 miles per hour, has a range of over 0.68 miles, and can even land on water.
The drone then acts as a flotation device, supporting up to two adults, while rescuers follow on a personal watercraft to complete the rescue.

Rescue drone technical specifications and features
The TY-3R is lightweight, less than 11 pounds, and durable. Its IP68 waterproof rating means it can be submerged in up to 3.3 feet of water for 30 minutes. After rescue, with the press of a button, the drone will automatically return to its starting point. For safety, the TY-3R’s motors shut off upon landing, and the propellers have screens over them to protect swimmers.
