Restaurant in New York City goes back to 1950s pricing for one day only

A New York restaurant is celebrating its 70th anniversary by bringing back its 1950s pricing structure.

Serendipity3 has been a must-visit destination in New York since September 1954, and is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.

To celebrate, the restaurant and general store has announced that it will be offering its popular menu item, frozen hot chocolate, for $1 for one day only on September 18th.

According to a news release from Serendipity3, the popular treat sold for $1 when it first opened in the 1950s, so the restaurant wanted to bring back that nostalgia for one day.

Those hoping to get their hands on the $1 frozen hot chocolate can make a reservation ahead of time at the Upper East Side or Times Square locations, which opened last week.
