A pay-per-view event featuring All Elite Wrestling’s Forbidden Door brought together wrestlers from various promotions, including AEW, Ring of Honor, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling, on Sunday. The lineup included eight championship matches, culminating in a night filled with competitive action at the O2 Arena in London.
Will Osprey faced significant challenges in the main event, especially during the final match.
Death Rider Comes Out on Top
Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, Darby Allin, and others had their moments against Death Rider and associates like Gabe Kidd and the Jacksons. However, Jon Moxley’s faction ultimately overpowered Ospreay. They targeted him aggressively, focusing on his neck, which was already in need of surgery. Unfortunately, Ospreay’s teammates were unable to intervene in time, as Moxley had locked the door behind him.
Post-match, Ospreay was in a neck brace, clearly needing some recovery time, while his teammates looked on in disbelief as AEW medical staff tended to him.
Adam Page Retains AEW World Championship
Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) participated actively in the AEW World Championship match, but without the need for disqualification or other measures to earn a title shot. Adam Page, fresh off a title win, delivered spectacular moves, including a moonsault and a Dead Eye through a table, making a strong impression.
In the end, Page secured the victory with a Buckshot Lariat, pinning MJF. Although MJF fell short this time, he still retains chances for future opportunities.
Surprising Returns in AEW
Two notable returns occurred during the event. Wardlow made his comeback, entering the ring after Kazuchika Okada defended the AEW Unified Championship against Swerve Strickland. Following some post-match chaos, Wardlow stepped in to handle the situation.
Meanwhile, Jamie Hayter made an impactful return, emerging from the crowd to thwart an attack on Queen Aminata after her injury sidelines.
Toni Storm Outsmarted by Athena
In the AEW Women’s World Championship match, Toni Storm faced Athena, who had been on a winning streak. Storm, a former champion, had an emotional stake in this contest. Despite Athena’s impressive skills, Storm showcased her own and managed to make Athena submit, reclaiming her championship status.
