“Everybody Loves Raymond” Marks 30 Years Since Its Debut
This month, “Everybody Loves Raymond” is toasting to three decades since its first episode aired.
The stars came together for the “Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion,” with a special premiere held on November 24. The event was led by Phil Rosenthal, the show’s creator, alongside Ray Romano, who also featured several other cast members.
Premiering in September 1996, the comedy enjoyed a successful nine-season run, concluding in May 2005. Throughout its tenure, it garnered 15 Primetime Emmy Awards, covering categories like Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Outstanding Comedy Series, and both Best Actor and Actress.
So, what have the beloved cast members been up to since the series finale?
Ray Romano
Ray Romano, who played the titular character, also took on the roles of writer and executive producer for all 210 episodes of the show, earning Emmy accolades for both acting and producing.
After “Raymond,” he co-created and starred in “Man of a Certain Age” from 2009 to 2011 and appeared in “Parenthood” from 2012 to 2015. Romano’s voice can be heard as Manny the mammoth in the “Ice Age” animated film series.
He has showcased his dramatic side in movies like “The Big Sick” and “Paddleton” and made his directorial debut with “Somewhere in Queens.” Recently, he featured in “No Good Deed” and “Fly Me to the Moon.” Romano has been married to Anna since 1987, and they share four children: Alexandra, Matthew, Gregory, and Joseph.

Patricia Heaton, who portrayed Debra Barone, received two Emmy Awards for her role.
Following her time on “Raymond,” she starred in “The Middle” for 215 episodes between 2009 and 2018 and hosted “Patricia Heaton Parties,” earning both Primetime and Daytime Emmy Awards for that show.
Heaton has also shifted towards faith-based projects, appearing in “Carol’s Second Act” and most recently in “Unbreakable Boy” and “The Ritual.” She was previously married to Konstantin Yankoglou and has four sons with her current husband, David Hunt.

Peter Boyle, who played the often grumpy Frank Barone, passed away in 2006 at 71.
His Hollywood journey began in 1968, with roles in films like “Young Frankenstein” and “Taxi Driver.” He garnered seven Emmy nominations for his remarkable performances on “Raymond” and was recognized as Best Guest Actor for “The X-Files.” Boyle was married to Lorraine and had two children before his passing.
Brad Garrett
Playing Robert Barone, Romano’s brother, Brad Garrett won three Emmy Awards for his performance.
Post-“Raymond,” he enjoyed a diverse career filled with voice work and both comedic and dramatic roles, featuring in films like “Finding Dory” and “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.” His television appearances include shows like “This Is Us” and “Not Dead Yet.” Garrett was married to Jill Deven and shares two children with her, later marrying Isabir Kera in 2021.
Doris Roberts
Doris Roberts, who played matriarch Marie Barone, started her acting career in the 1950s, but gained significant fame during the 1980s. She won four Emmy Awards for her performance on “Raymond.” After the show concluded, she appeared in various series and films before her passing in 2016 at 90.
Romano fondly remembered Roberts as a nurturing figure in the lives of young actors and comedians, noting her deep love for life and compassion for others.
Monica Horan
Best known for her role as Amy, Horan later married the show’s creator, Phil Rosenthal, in 1990. Their family includes two children, Lily and Ben, and she regularly appears on his Netflix program, “Somebody Feeds Phil.”

Sawyer Sweeten
Sawyer Sweeten portrayed Jeffrey Barone but stepped away from acting after the series ended. Tragically, he passed away in 2015 at the age of 19. He was remembered fondly by his co-stars, reflecting on his intelligence and humor.
Sullivan Sweeten
Sullivan Sweeten played Michael Barone on the show and also exited acting following its conclusion.
