Turning Point USA’s Ambitious Plan for the Super Bowl Halftime Show

The Super Bowl halftime show stands as a hugely influential cultural landmark, and Jack Posobiec from Turning Point USA recognized that taking this on would be quite the endeavor. Still, they charged ahead.

“I heard that the NFL attempted to persuade you guys to back out,” Glenn Beck from Blaze Media remarked to Posobiec.

“What I can tell you is this: Kid Rock himself mentioned it, saying, ‘It’s David versus Goliath,'” Posobiec elaborated.

“What he meant was, we were deliberately challenging the largest players in America—Hollywood, corporate giants—especially during the most significant sporting event in the country. This event holds unparalleled cultural influence and financial stakes,” he noted.

He continued, “I don’t think we realized just how much they could track, monitor, and potentially block us. I won’t claim that Roger Goodell directly warned me, ‘You shouldn’t go through with this,’ but you can see the undercurrents.”

“These elite events operate like a trickle-down model. Connections span sponsorships, advertisers, venues, musicians, and music rights,” he explained.

Posobiec recounted instances when artists expressed their eagerness to participate. “But then, Glenn, things shift in those discussions. A significant number of individuals often backtrack, saying, ‘Oh, something came up, and now we can’t proceed.'”

He clarified, “They often play games with song rights… because publishers and rights holders control access to those songs. Had we proceeded, we could have faced lawsuits amounting to tens of millions because someone simply said, ‘No Turning Point USA.'”

Glenn responded, “These situations pop up quite frequently in our landscape. But it usually only occurs when you’re stirring the waters.”

“That speaks volumes about their fear surrounding this,” he added.
