REVEALED: Walz let Minnesota BURN during George Floyd riots

Blaze Media national correspondent Julio Rosas was in Minneapolis during the George Floyd riots in 2020 and remembers all too well what Gov. Tim Walz allowed to happen in the state.

Not only did he take no action, he refused to send the Minnesota National Guard to the epicenter of the destruction to rescue his constituents.

“It was completely different than anything I’ve ever covered,” Rosas told “Blaze News Tonight’s” Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson.

Minnesota State Police had been ordered to evacuate the 3rd Precinct, where Derek Chauvin was originally assigned.

“They had been under siege at that station for a week. The riots had been going on all week,” Rosas explains. “The BLM rioters scored a major victory by forcing the mayor to issue an evacuation order.”

“The rioters had indicated on multiple occasions that they wanted to set the building on fire while the officers were inside, so if they had not evacuated for perhaps another 10 minutes or so, things could have been a lot worse,” he added.

“The governor of Minnesota is actually to blame because he refused to stand up and send aid,” Peterson interjected.

“I think there was a big mistake on the part of the mayor, and ultimately the governor,” Rosas agreed, explaining that he believes the big mistake was thinking that the decision to vacate the police station would give the rioters what they wanted and calm them down.

“But that didn’t happen,” he added.
