Franklin Graham Supports VP Vance Amid Controversial Comments

Rev. Franklin Graham, a well-known Christian leader, has expressed his support for Vice President J.D. Vance following a heated social media exchange regarding Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Graham noted that while Vance’s choice of words—described as “salted”—could have been improved, he applauded Vance’s stance in the matter.

In his comments, Graham said, “Many Vice Presidents have used colorful language, but the essence of what VP Vance was conveying is accurate. Perhaps he could choose his words more carefully.” His remarks came after Vance’s social media post where he was outspoken against Kennedy, who has faced significant backlash from over a thousand current and former HHS employees calling for his resignation.

During a contentious Senate Finance Committee hearing, Kennedy faced tough questioning from Sen. Ron Wyden regarding accusations related to health policy. In response, Kennedy defended his actions and advocated for transparency regarding pharmaceutical companies.

Vance quickly leaped to Kennedy’s defense on social media, expressing his distaste for how Kennedy was treated during the hearing. Kennedy reciprocated by thanking Vance, highlighting that he appreciated his support.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also backed Kennedy, suggesting the criticism he received was indicative of his determination to challenge powerful interests.

This isn’t the first instance where Graham has addressed political figures’ language. He previously advised former President Trump to minimize his use of vulgar language, reminding him of the weight his words carry.

Graham concluded his statement by sending his blessings to both Kennedy and Vance. Meanwhile, Vance’s spokesperson did not respond to requests for comment right away.
