Trump Comments on Cracker Barrel Logo Redesign
Recently, President Donald Trump expressed his thoughts on the Cracker Barrel logo redesign, which has stirred quite a bit of controversy across the country. He characterized the change made by the Tennessee-based restaurant chain as a “mistake.”
On Tuesday, Trump used Truth Social to share his opinions and offered some advice to the company. He suggested that Cracker Barrel should revert to its old logo and acknowledge the misstep based on feedback from customers, which he referred to as “the ultimate Poll.” He emphasized the potential for the company to capitalize on the situation.
“Cracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response, and manage the company better than ever before. They got a Billion Dollars worth of free publicity if they play their cards right. Very tricky to do, but a great opportunity. Have a major News Conference today. Make Cracker Barrel a WINNER again,” Trump remarked.
As part of a $700 million modernization effort, the new logo is meant to revamp the company, which will also include updates to restaurant interiors and new menu items.
Cracker Barrel addressed the redesign on its website, explaining their choice to move away from the classic Uncle Herschel illustration for a simpler text-only logo. They reassured fans that Uncle Herschel would continue to be featured in their menu and promotional materials.
“We love seeing how much you care about our ‘old timer.’ Uncle Herschel will still be on our menu and featured in our country store. He’s not going anywhere — he’s family.”
Despite the intentions behind the rebranding, Cracker Barrel has seen a significant impact on its market value. The company’s stock price dropped by $4.22, representing a 7.2% decline, ending the day at $54.80 per share. Earlier in the day, it had dipped to $50.27, indicating a temporary loss of nearly $200 million in value.
