New Legislative Initiatives by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna from Florida has put forth two significant bills: the Patriot Act and the American Privacy Repair Act. The goal of these proposals is to completely eliminate what she describes as the “fraudulent intelligence officers and their extensive mass surveillance powers.”
“Ever since the US Patriot Act was enacted after the events of September 11, officials in the Intelligence Reporting Agency have leveraged mass surveillance technologies for personal vendettas, meddled in electoral processes, and monitored law-abiding citizens,” she stated.
During a discussion on “Blaze News Tonight,” Jill Savage raised a question to co-host Matthew Peterson about whether Luna can gather enough support to dismantle what many view as a deep state.
Peterson responded cautiously, saying, “I’m not sure, as I find it hard to believe Congress has enough members willing to back President Trump’s budget at this point.”
He recalled how historically, patriot acts were largely crafted by Republicans, acknowledging their responsibility while also crediting a few, like Paulina, for recognizing that these measures may not have been the best idea.
“It’s truly a daunting task, but what’s refreshing here is that we’re witnessing a push in Congress—something viewed as radical just a few years back. Is this a sign of progress?”
