Revolut’s Expansion Plans in France
Revolut, a British finance company, announced on Monday its intention to invest 1 billion euros (approximately $1.1 billion) in expanding its operations in France over the next three years. The company is also set to apply for a banking license in the country soon.
This announcement was made during the “French Choice” investment summit, which was hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles. As part of its expansion, Revolut plans to open a new office in Paris focused on Western Europe and aims to create at least 200 new jobs in France.
Revolut stands out as one of the largest European financial services apps that have emerged in the last decade, boasting over 55 million customers and, notably, no physical branches. After three years of waiting, the company obtained its banking license in the UK in 2024.
Currently, Revolut employs around 300 people in France and mentioned that Lithuania continues to play a crucial role in its growth strategy across Europe.
In a recent interview with Ouest-France, Macron estimated that the summit’s initiatives could attract investments exceeding 20 billion euros.
