Rex Heuermann wife says he’s ‘not capable’ of Gilgo Beach killings

The estranged wife of Gilgo Beach murder suspect Rex Heuerman said Wednesday that he was “incapable” of carrying out the four murders he is accused of committing.

Asa Ererup, who filed for divorce from Heuermann days after his arrest in July 2023, said in a statement through her lawyer that she would “naturally give the benefit of the doubt” to her husband of 27 years. .

The Gilgo Four, all sex workers, were discovered on a Long Island beach in December 2010.

Six other bodies were discovered around the same time in remote areas of Long Island, many of which have been attributed to the Gilgo Beach serial killer, although no official connection to Heuerman has been made. .
