RFK Jr. admits to dumping dead bear cub in Central Park

Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. released a bizarre video on X-Sunday in which he tells comedian Roseanne Barr about the time 10 years ago he dumped a dead bear cub in New York City’s Central Park.

In the video, RFK and Barr are seated at a dinner table in his home as the independent candidate tells his story, explaining that he’s trying to get ahead of stories New Yorkers are working on.

RFK said he was falcon hunting with his group in Goshen, New York, about a two-hour drive north of New York City.

RFK told Attorney General Barr that on the way there, a woman in a van ahead of him had hit and killed a young bear.

RFK Jr. says he may need to apologize to women from his past over sexual assault allegations: “I’ve had a very tumultuous life”

“So I pulled over, picked up the bear and put it in the back of my van with the intention of skinning it and putting the meat in the freezer,” RFK says, as Barr listens, visibly shocked, and points out that the practice is legal in New York state, under certain conditions.

RFK continued peddling with a group of acquaintances and ended up staying late. Instead of going home, RFK had a dinner engagement in New York City.

RFK then acknowledged, without elaborating, that he had to go to the airport after dinner and therefore was unable to return home.

“I didn’t want to leave the bear in the car because it would have been disastrous,” RFK said.

He recalls that at the time (2014) there was a “series of cycling accidents,” some of which resulted in several deaths.

RFK told Burr that he had an old bicycle in his car, which gave him the idea to put a bear in Central Park and “make it look like it had been hit by a bicycle.”

“And everybody thought, ‘That’s a great idea,’ so we did it,” RFK said, clarifying that he hadn’t been drinking, unlike some of his acquaintances, “and we thought it would be funny for whoever found out.”

The prank apparently caught attention the next day: According to RFK, “It was on every TV station and on the front page of every newspaper.”

“I turned on the TV and there was a mile of yellow tape. Twenty police cars were there. There was a helicopter overhead. I thought, ‘My God, what have I done?'” RFK said, noting that his fingerprints were “all over the bike.”

“Fortunately, the story died down after a while and remained gone for 10 years,” RFK said.

The presidential candidate told Attorney General Barr that The New Yorker had found out about the incident “somehow” and would be running a story about it.

“It’s going to be a bad story,” RFK said in the video, drawing laughter from Attorney General Barr and others in the room.

“Can’t wait to see how you interpret this,” RFK captioned the video he posted to X.
