Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy has officially announced his choice for vice president.

On Tuesday, President Kennedy announced that Nicole Shanahan, a Silicon Valley lawyer and entrepreneur, would be his running mate at a campaign rally in Oakland, California.
“I am so proud to introduce you to Nicole Shanahan, the next vice president of the United States, my fellow lawyer, brilliant scientist, engineer, and brave warrior mother,” President Kennedy said. .
Like Kennedy, Shanahan has never run for office.
Dating back to 2022, the entrepreneur donated $6,600 to Kennedy and also gave $4 million to a super PAC supporting Kennedy in February.
The 38-year-old said she considers herself a “lifelong Democrat.” But she also argued that the current Democratic Party is “not doing a good job” at “nurturing core values.”
Additionally, Mr. Shanahan and Mr. Kennedy have similar views on issues such as environmental health and vaccines.
