RFK Jr. criticizes Democrats as an 'insane' party lacking in values

Kennedy Addresses GOP Convention

In a lively atmosphere, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. shared his journey to becoming a Republican during the 2026 Republican Midterm Convention.

Speaking on Thursday night, Kennedy delivered an impactful approximately 30-minute speech, reflecting on how the Democratic Party has shifted over his 70 years of affiliation and how that ultimately led him to the GOP.

He expressed his discontent with Democrats for abandoning American citizens, asserting that their actions contradicted the party’s foundational values: “The party of ‘my body, my choice’ forced citizens to wear masks.”

As he described the drastic changes he witnessed, RFK Jr. claimed the Democratic Party effectively dismantled the Bill of Rights during the pandemic. He stated, “During COVID, I watched the Democratic Party turn against every one of its essential values, its principles, and all of the policies that defined my party.”

He argued that Democrats began favoring industry-driven scientific agendas over credible research, stating, “They went from supporting solid research to blindly endorsing corrupt and captive regulatory agencies.” Kennedy elaborated on various grievances, such as the censorship of scientists, enforced social distancing, and the closure of places of worship while designating liquor and retail stores as “essential.”

Kennedy painted a picture of Democrats as elitists aligned with “Big Tech, Big Pharma, [and] Big Food,” which resonated with the audience.

Looking back on the COVID period, he noted how his social media accounts faced restrictions at the start of President Joe Biden’s administration, which he perceived as a betrayal of free speech principles.

He also called attention to how his uncle, Ted Kennedy, had worked to establish Title IX, criticizing current Democrats for neglecting women’s sports rights.

Kennedy’s observations signaled a shift in his perspective on American politics. He argued that the divide now isn’t just about Republicans versus Democrats, but also about sanity versus insanity.

Instead of presenting robust values, he charged that Democrats have settled into a singular viewpoint: opposition to President Trump.

In a notable moment, Kennedy recounted a call he received from Trump on the day of a shooting incident in Butler, Pennsylvania, asserting, “Everything the media said about Trump was a lie.” He described how Trump had kept every promise made to him, crediting Charlie Kirk for facilitating their connection.

Reflecting on Kirk’s influence, Kennedy mentioned honoring him on the anniversary of his death, September 10, and emphasized the significance of their bond.
