RFK Jr.’s Testimony: A Staging of Vaccine Idolatry?

When Robert F. Kennedy Jr. testified before the US Senate Treasury Committee last week, it felt less like a discussion and more like a grand display centered around vaccines—an idolatry of sorts. It’s almost magical in how much influence these vaccines hold.

This spectacle took me back to my early days in this line of work. A few years ago, I participated in an event for a group I admired, where students from Christian High School toured the Iowa State Capitol to witness government proceedings. By the time I arrived, the students were losing interest. The idea of politics as civic theater wasn’t captivating them anymore.

So, I posed a question: “Did the lobbyist treat you to steak and martinis today?” A heavy silence followed, even my parents seemed taken aback. But the kids were engaged. They were finally listening. I tried to keep it simple: This is how the political game really operates.

Then, the event organizers criticized me for being “cynical.” I couldn’t help but point out their naivety. Kids don’t need fairy tales. They deserve to understand how deep the rabbit hole goes. Just last week, Kennedy illustrated just how murky and uncomfortable that depth can be—even for someone painted as the “good guy.”

That Senate hearing felt like a moment of prophecy. It reminded me of John the Baptist’s admonition to Herod about his inappropriate relationships. RFK Jr. called out Elizabeth Warren for accepting $855,000 from Big Pharma. It’d be poetic justice if he asked her to return that money to Native American reservations.

The outcry from Democrats as their icons fell from grace was music to my ears. It sent chills down my spine. The truth is, if Republicans could muster similar courage, we could continuously challenge these unsavory figures.

However, it’s frustrating to see many prominent Republicans focusing instead on mundane distractions like memes about Greta Thunberg, dodging the real issues at hand. Too many behave like kids at a youth event, eager to dip their toes in politics while ignoring the ugly truths.

I wonder, has anyone from the so-called “Griftcon Inc.” ever been as exposed as RFK Jr.? Or was that lavish life just a standard operating procedure? By the time Pharma checks start to come through, most avoid asking tough questions. It’s not just about the side effects of mRNA; it’s about why this generation might be the first in American history to normalize such drastic changes in childhood.

There’s always the option to sell out. It seems Washington has made a career out of it. But if someone with Kennedy’s controversial background can emerge and unveil the hard truths, maybe the rest of us can, too.

Is pursuing accountability around COVID and advocating for the health of our children worth shattering these idols? Or are we risking a massacre of too many sacred beliefs in the quest for goodness and truth?

Ultimately, the stakes are about the survival of our nation and the condition of our souls. It seems straightforward enough. Yet, I can’t shake off the uneasy thought that perhaps our children might one day be speaking a different language—praying to an unfamiliar deity.
