WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is focusing on the NBA playoffs, specifically the second round matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics, following a post on Wednesday night’s X show.
Flair took to social media platforms to express his displeasure with Cavs star guard Donovan Mitchell, who missed Game 4 with a left calf strain and missed Game 5, a must-win Game 5 for Cleveland.
The seasons for the Celtics and Cleveland end with wins, but that’s why Flair couldn’t believe Mitchell wasn’t a good fit.

“My calf hurts? Really?” Flair tweeted. “You would think that with a salary of $32 million, I would have been able to go into tonight’s game and represent Cleveland! I’ve been wrestling with a rotator cuff after surgery and a near death in a plane crash. He never missed a game.
“I couldn’t imagine missing out on the opportunity to play in the NBA Championship Playoff Game, and I’m so disappointed in you for representing Cleveland! It seems like you’ve sacrificed your entire team to rest tonight.”

Mitchell suffered a strain during Game 3 and was unable to play in Game 4, a 109-102 loss that had the series 3-1 in Boston’s favor.
It also doesn’t help that Caris LeVert, who started in place of Mitchell in Game 4, missed Game 5 due to a bone bruise in his left knee.

Flair, on the other hand, has a different perspective on not letting his fans down. Because, as he said, battling injuries was common during his prime.
Mitchell and the rest of the injured Cavs knew what was at stake before Wednesday night’s tipoff, but it was clear they would not be available.
But Cavs fans like Flair disagree with the decision to sit out a game that could determine whether Game 6 is played or whether Cleveland’s 2023-24 season ends.
