Rich Get Richer: Baltimore Raves Just Added Dalvin Cook

The Baltimore Ravens are adding free agent running back Dalvin Cook to their already stacked roster after the former New York Jet cleared waivers on Thursday, ESPN reports.

According to the paper, Cook will be a member of the Ravens' practice squad. Exit.jets running back Released on Tuesdaybrings a wealth of experience to an impressive running back lineup that includes veteran Gus Edwards and spark plug Justice Hill.

Cook's time in New York fell short of wild expectations, but he could still provide value to the Ravens and MVP candidate quarterback Lamar Jackson.

A four-time Pro Bowler, he is more dynamic than Edwards, a hard-nosed runner, as he can be a legitimate threat catching the ball out of the backfield, and his 210-pound frame is more effective than the diminutive. Gives slightly more strength than Justice Hill.

He joins an offensive line that includes speedsters like rookie wideout Zai Flowers, wide receiver Rashod Bateman, and of course the always flashy Odell Beckham Jr. (Related: New York Jets and Dalvin Cook mutually agree to part ways; Super Bowl contender and potential contract: Report)

The Ravens are set to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18, but since they have already secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC and a first-round bye in the playoffs, they will likely rest most of their starters. That means Baltimore will have more than two weeks to get Cook accustomed to the scheme, and Cook will have plenty of time to build chemistry with MVP candidate Lamar Jackson before the pair snaps. Thing.

Talk about injustice!

Now, quoting Cook, some may think this signing is an afterthought. boring 214 yards with the Jets this season. But the Baltimore Ravens are not the New York Jets. First of all, Cook has a real QB to hand the ball to, not the lifeless corpse of some poor reclamation project the Jets are trotting out to the signal caller. But also, the Ravens offense is designed around the run game. I think he has a solid chance to be an impact player in the postseason and compete for a ring.
