Florida Sen. Rick Scott said he believes Gov. Ron DeSantis will select Lara Trump to replace Sen. Marco Rubio, whom President-elect Donald Trump has nominated for secretary of state.

“I think Lara Trump is the right person to replace him. It's going to be hard to replace him. I met her when she worked at the E! network and she's a hard worker. She’s committed,” Scott (R-Fla.) said in an interview Tuesday.the hill” news nation network.
“If you look at what she's done at the RNC this election cycle, she's done a great job on election security and making sure we get to vote. She's going to be a great partner. I look forward to working with her,” Scott told anchor Blake Berman.
Mr. Scott had previously endorsed Ms. Lara to replace Mr. Rubio shortly after Ms. Lara was nominated. He also encouraged DeSantis to select a Republican National Committee co-chair to represent Florida.
“This is an important decision. He will choose Lara Trump because he knows she is clearly qualified,” Scott said.
“She is someone who is welcome in the state of Florida and someone who has the potential to win the election she has to run in two years.”
Meanwhile, Lara said she has not yet spoken to DeSantis but is open to filling the seat “if asked.”
“If I could serve in another office, it would be a real honor,” Lara Trump said. fox news. “I haven't been approached yet, but if it's offered to me, I'd definitely consider it.”
