Ricky Gervais has made some critical comments about other celebrities in the past, but his response to the celebrity voting video may be his best yet.
The 2016 video featured many popular Hollywood actors sending the message that Americans should not vote for Donald Trump.
In the video, the celebrities repeatedly refer to themselves as “celebrities” and stress how important it is to go vote – as long as you’re not voting for Trump.
Or, as actor Don Cheadle said in the video, “a racist, abusive coward who could cause permanent damage to the fabric of our society.”
Gervais’ response began by sitting up to his chin in the bathtub with his cell phone camera pointed at himself.
“I’m Ricky G, health and beauty influencer,” he began.
“I’m a public figure, so I know all about science, politics, etc. So please believe me when I tell you who you should vote for. Not voting the right way is the same as a hate crime, and it will make me sad, angry, and I will leave this country. You don’t want that.”
Dave Rubin can’t help but be enthralled by what he’s hearing.
“Oh man, he’s so amazing. We have to protect him with all our might,” he says.
