Ricky Martin Sells Upper East Side Home
Ricky Martin has recently sold his home on the Upper East Side for $6.45 million, according to reports from Gimme Shelter.
This four-bedroom, 4.5-bath property at 170 East End Avenue has had a bit of a turbulent market history, initially selling for $8.4 million back in 2017. After being on and off the market, it was last listed for the aforementioned price in September. The identity of the new owner hasn’t been revealed yet.
Currently, Martin is busy touring, with nine concerts lined up, including performances in Highland, California, Abu Dhabi, and Mexico City. He acquired the seventh-floor unit in 2012 for $5.9 million, so it seems he’s made quite a move with this sale.
Having also owned a mid-century mansion in Beverly Hills, Martin appears to have a keen interest in real estate. That property, located at 1309 Davis Drive, is up for grabs at $49.95 million, down from an earlier listing of $75 million. Interestingly, past owners of that sprawling 2.37-acre estate include the families of notable figures like British actor Michael Caine and American actress Doris Day.
This Manhattan residence spans 3,147 square feet and was designed by Peter Marino. It boasts a bright and airy open living/dining area, featuring 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and hardwood floors. The kitchen is especially standout, featuring custom cabinetry and wide windows. The unit also includes two spacious main suites complete with walk-in closets and luxurious bathrooms. There’s a fifth room that could be a bedroom, study, or whatever one might need.
On a personal note, Martin is a father to teenage twins, Matteo and Valentino, whom he raised through a surrogate. He also has a daughter named Lucia and a son, Len, both born via surrogacy with his former husband, Jwan Yosef.
Built in 2008, the building is conveniently located near Carl Schulz Park and the East River.
The listing was handled by brokers Michael J. Franco and Miriam Richards from Compass.
