Ridiculously Dopey, Anti-Trump Snuff Film

100 Minutes Later by writer and director Alex Garland civil war, I had an incredible experience of déjà vu. I had enough head space to explore this emotion because the movie wasn’t appealing. What is this? Where does this feeling of déjà vu come from? Maybe it has nothing to do with the movie. Perhaps this is how everyone feels after eating a bag of licorice purchased at Big Lots?

Then it shocked me.

This is the stupidest movie I’ve ever seen.

In other words, civil war Stupid—like First draft idiot. Garland is just a great movie and he directed one — Ex Machina — followed by two flops. So it’s incomprehensible to me that no one told him how much work still needed to be done on his script.

Anyway, I’m sitting there wondering why civil war I felt very nostalgic, and suddenly an idea occurred to me—Elysium! Dam Inn Elysium (2013). Remember when those stupid things the size of car batteries came raining down on you? Oh yeah, I’ve been here before. This is a sweaty, desperate left-wing weirdo-fest undermined by smug plot holes that scream: This hits the sweet spot of so many leftists that there’s no reason to care about logic or reality.

First of all…

Entertainment media, filmmakers, and stars are all lying (big surprise).idea civil war “Non-partisan” is nothing more than a movie bureaucrat slipping it into an advertising campaign so Beautiful People can sit back and laugh. civil war The story begins with an evil white president with fine hair and a red tie using this rhythm to spread lies. “Some are already calling this the greatest victory in the history of military operations.”

I’ll have to spoil the entire plot to reveal just how stupid this movie is. You’ve been warned…

*** I’m about to spoil the entirety of this horrible movie ***

civil war The biggest problem is that we don’t have the courage to believe. Thirty years ago, Oliver Stone or Spike Lee would have solved this whole thing without caring who was offended. Garland’s script is a pile of shit. Instead of giving the story a hard-hitting energy, he’s like a boxer who hides behind the referee and throws the occasional bad punch.

And without a clear point of view, you won’t know who to root for. Did Chairman Great Hair Red Tie (Nick Offerman) refuse to let him step down for the right reason: to unite the union? (After hearing that the president had disbanded the FBI and shot journalists on sight, I was convinced he was a hero.) On the other hand, there were military forces in California and Texas to recapture the Great Haired President. There is an ally called Western Force (WF). under. But it’s never said what they stand for other than killing Trump.

Garland’s script is so sleazy that it doesn’t feel like there’s any stakes. Apparently, we are automatically supposed to side with WF…because WF is multicultural?

The plot is a boring road movie about four “journalists” driving from New York to Washington, DC. Their purpose is to interview the president. Along for the ride are hardcore photojournalist Lee Smith (Kirsten Dunst – the only interesting character in this bunch), her colleague Joel (Wagner Moura – a total hamster), and an elderly woman. new york times reporter Sammy (Stephen McKinley Henderson, doing his best in a mundane role) and budding photojournalist Jesse (the unforgettable Cailee Spaeny), whose real job is convincing other reporters. .

Throughout the journey, this foursome is regularly threatened by rural white men, and only rural white men, although we never really get to know them and therefore feel no tension in the danger. Masu. Traveling is also boring. We’re driving to Washington, D.C., to ask tough questions of the president. You get the motivation, but no emotional investment. And her conversation… oh, oh… After the close call, Jesse talks about how scared she was and she says, “She’s never felt so alive.”It is as follows first draft let it be.

Indeed, it doesn’t help that at this point someone has already mentioned “Anifa Massacre”, which is the only movie I want to see.

Anyway, I promised to spoil the whole plot, so here it is…

First of all, why are only two states fighting to remove President GreatHairRedTie from office, even though he has essentially declared himself a dictator in his third unelected term? This makes no sense at all. historical meaning. People from all over the country formed battalions and joined the allies. We then see that his remaining 48 states split into the Florida Confederacy, the New People’s Army, and the Loyalist states. Okay, but what are they doing?

Why does it seem like there are over 20 loyalist states but only 11 people protecting the president in the White House?

More than 20 loyalist states are on his side, but only two Western states are against him. Why do presidents lose?

Why did that man admit that he was from Hong Kong as a country boy? Darwin demanded that the fool be shot.

What happened to the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force?

Why doesn’t the president use low-level nuclear weapons to annihilate Western forces?

Why is there no air combat or no one to command the air force?

Why is the Great Haired Thai President sitting in the Oval Office waiting to be killed instead of hiding deep in a bunker with nuclear codes?

Why Kirsten Dunst’s character ends up having a PTSD meltdown at that exact moment Is it all happening? (answer: Oscar moment. )

Many dystopian films refuse to explain everything, but within that particular world, the world makes sense. They have logic. There are rules. Additionally, we are given a side or someone to root for.The stakes are a little higher Four boring characters interviewing the president? There are truly state-of-the-art items there.

civil war An anti-Trump snuff film, a comforting blankie, and a wish-fulfillment support animal for unmotivated leftists and CNN anchors who seem to get slapped in the face every time a new 2024 poll is released. I want to be. But this is just a bad movie marred by an unforgivably lazy screenplay.
