Riley Gaines Features in New Commercial with Daughter
Conservative influencer and Outkick host Riley Gaines recently appeared in a commercial alongside her young daughter, Margot.
The ad, promoting the activist sportswear brand XX-XY Athletics, features a moment where Gaines is seen holding Margot, while a mix of supportive and critical voices about her choices play in the background. The commercial concludes with her remarking, “The only opinion that matters to me is her opinion.”
Since her birth in September, Margot has gained a fanbase among Gaines’s supporters. The duo has also been seen together at significant events, like the White House press room and a rally at the U.S. Supreme Court advocating for the preservation of women’s sports.
During a podcast episode titled “Gains for Girls,” the couple discussed their values and how they plan to raise Margot. Gaines’s husband, Louis Barker, emphasized the importance of presenting a united front. He expressed that he wants Margot to see that he and Gaines work together as a team, rather than as individuals.
He explained, “For us, I’ve always wanted to set an example of what a relationship should be. I want Margot to know that Mom and Dad are both here; we’re all in this together.” He further shared his frustrations about children opting for one parent over the other, insisting on the need for consistency in parenting.
Gaines agreed with Barker’s parenting approach, stating that it sets a strong example for children who may lack guidance. “Kids often miss the importance of direction and role models in their lives,” she noted, indicating that this is a crucial part of effective parenting.
Barker reiterated their commitment to modeling a healthy relationship for Margot, rejecting the idea of ‘intergenerational trauma.’ He mentioned the relevance of showcasing a loving relationship while acknowledging that disagreements do arise. “Despite any arguments, we will stay together,” he clarified, stressing that they will not adopt behaviors that send unhealthy signals to their child.
