Former NCAA swimmer and activist Riley Gaines was reportedly denied entry to the NCAA annual convention despite previously being nominated for Woman of the Year.

“I said, 'Wait a minute, what do you mean you're not allowed in there?'” Riley told the outlet. “I pulled out my email and showed them everything was in place right down to where I was definitely cleared for admission. And they said, 'No, we know you're eligible.' Told. But that's not what we're talking about. You're not allowed to go there. ”

The NCAA reportedly feared Gaines would disrupt the Woman of the Year award ceremony by protesting.
“I'm here to support them,” Riley said. “I'm in no way trying to distract them or take anything away from them. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.”
Riley said he was denied entry to the country to keep him away from NCAA President Charlie Baker.

“It was clear to me, and it was clear to all my friends who were with me, that they just pulled me aside when Charlie Baker walked by,” Riley explained. “So I didn't have a chance to talk to him until he was safely secured in a completely separate room. That was obvious.”
Baker said the NCAA would change its transgender policy to make it more fair for women. “reform” It has not been achieved.
“I laughed when the NCAA kept saying things like, 'We strive to create opportunities for trailblazing women,'” she said. “It's so ironic to hear them sit there and say they're creating opportunities when they're deliberately taking away opportunities for women and continuing to do that.”
