Nashville police announced Friday that they have found the body of Riley Strain, a University of Missouri senior who went missing after going downtown on March 8.
Strain’s body was recovered Friday morning from the Cumberland River in west Nashville, about 13 miles from downtown, authorities said. Police said no injuries related to foul play were observed on X and that an autopsy was being performed.
The 22-year-old finance student went missing while visiting Nashville on an official spring trip for his class reunion. He was drinking with friends at Luke’s 32, a downtown bar run by Broadway’s Luke Bryan, when staff asked him to leave.
Police said the man’s cell phone last rang near Gay Street, which partially borders the Cumberland River.

Nashville police released a video of Strain greeting officers on Gay Street as they checked parked cars for signs of a robbery just before the college student disappeared.
“On the night of March 8, Riley was seen briefly exchanging greetings with Officer Reginald Young on Gay Street south of the Woodland Street Bridge. Riley did not appear to be in distress. Lukes, 32, said in a statement that the bartender offered Strain a drink before staff asked him to leave.
“At 9:35 p.m., our security team made the decision, consistent with our standards of conduct, to escort him from the venue to the Broadway exit in front of our building,” the bar said in a March 15 statement. After leaving the bar, Strain told friends he was returning to his accommodation at the Tempo by Hilton, about five blocks from Luke’s 32. FOX17 first reported.

When Strain’s cousin, Chelsea Strain, couldn’t find him at a hotel later that night, friends filed a missing person report, Fox News Digital previously told Reuters.
Strain’s family immediately flew to Nashville to join the search after a friend reported him missing.
