Surveillance camera footage showed Steyn apparently taking a wrong turn while walking back to the hotel.
The university confirmed in a statement Monday that Strain is still missing and said it is “in contact with his family and authorities in Nashville” as the search continues.
As the search dragged on, the Delta Chief Flat member’s family went to Nashville to search and went through “utter hell,” Whyid told the Dispatch.
The student was reportedly kicked out of the bar for being drunk.
“The bartender said he was overserved,” Whyid said. told WZTV Nashville. “He was trying to pay his taxes.”
“This is definitely your worst nightmare,” the stepfather added. “He talks to his mother three or four times a day. It’s never normal for him to go this long without talking.”
