MILWAUKEE — Some delegates attending this week’s Republican National Convention have started a new fashion trend: ear wraps that mimic those worn by former President Donald Trump, who was shot over the weekend.
Trump wore a white bandage over the bullet-hit right ear as he entered the convention on Monday, making his first public appearance since the assassination attempt at a rally on Saturday left him bloodied.
On Tuesday, some attendees sought to pay tribute to that style.
Arizona Representative Joe Neglia told CBS News that it represents the “latest fashion trend.”
“Soon everyone in the world will be wearing this,” he said, explaining that he folded the piece of paper on the bus to the arena.
Arizona Delegate Stacey Goodman, who had a piece of paper held to her ear, said the accessory was “not a sign of solidarity with the current administration, but with my president, President Trump.”
